Tu Futuro: Through Education & Leadership Workshop

THE FOLLOWING FORM IS FOR HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELORS/ COLLEGE & CAREER COUNSELORS ONLY.

This event targets Hispanic High School Juniors who have leadership potential and an interest in attending college. The Workshop encourages students to attend college and provides information to help them prepare to apply to get into college.

When: Thursday, March 3, 2022
Where: Wichita State University, Rhatigan Student Center, Beggs Ballroom.
Time: 8:40am- 2:15 pm

KHEDF Scholarship: Students can enter for a chance to win a KHEDF scholarship up to $500. Recipients must be enrolled full-time in a postsecondary institution the year following graduation.

Registration: All Students must be registered by Friday, February 17th, 2022

Transportation: USD 259 has made arrangements for transportation for their schools. Other High schools will need to provide transportation.

Costs: NO COST FOR PARTICIPANTS

Lunch: Lunch will be provided for students and counselors attending.

Each High School is allowed 15 Students Maximum. 

WAITLIST: If you would like to bring more than 15 Students to the workshop send an email to Mark (mark.guzman@khedf.org) with the list of students names and preferred breakout sessions and after registrations are all submitted from all the high schools, the main contact will be contacted if any additional students can participate.

Exploring Careers in Skills Trades
 
Careers in a Skilled Trade are in demand. Many of these occupations (Aviation, Automotive, Construction, HVAC, IT, Machining, etc.) do not require a 4-year degree, but you will need the skills necessary to succeed. This session will introduce you to the options available in the skilled trades and discuss the required education to earn an industry-recognized credential.


Careers in Health Professions
 
The health care industry is booming. Medical advancements are made every day, and the need for health care professionals is skyrocketing. Learn about careers in Radiologic Technology, Sonography, Nursing, Research Science, Respiratory Care, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Medicine, and more!
 


Design & Production Careers
 
Impact your community and change the world through design and innovation careers. Careers include Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Product Design & Manufacturing Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Technology (Mechatronics, Management, Facilities Management, and Civil), and Applied Computing.
